Looking for Ground Screws for light construction?
Looking for smaller ground screws for terraces, greenhouses or DIY projects? We also carry ground screws up to 1 m — ideal for lighter structures and self-build.

A better way to builda foundation
Traditional concrete foundations take days to prepare and weeks to cure before any structure can go up. For wooden houses, modular homes, and lightweight timber construction — where speed, site impact, and cost are critical — there is a proven alternative.
Ground screws are structural steel screw piles that are driven directly into the ground by rotation. No excavation. No concrete. No waiting. Once installed, they provide an immediate, certified foundation point — ready to take structural load on the same day.
✽ Why Ground Screws for foundations?
Designed for demanding projects
The KGS ground screws are the choice of professionals where speed, structural integrityand site versatility are important.
Immediate Load Support
No curing time. Structures can be build / set directly after installation — critical for accelerated construction schedules.
Hot-dip galvanized
Full compliance with the EN ISO 1461 standard. Long-term corrosion protection for permanent ground applications in various soil conditions.
Structural Steel S235
Manufactured from verified S235 structural steel, class 4.6 — the same standard used in certified civil engineering projects.
No Excavation Required
Screw installation leaves the site clean. Minimal soil disturbance — ideal for restricted access, forested areas or landscaped sites.
Accelerated Schedule
Installation with electric drive machines. A typical foundation completed in hours, not days.
Specialized Consultation
Each project begins with a technical consultation — soil assessment, load analysis and ideal ground screw selection before any commitment.
The right foundation for modern wooden and modular construction
Ground screws are particularly suitable for the types of projects that are rapidly growing in Portugal:
Wooden houses
Lightweight construction methods that do not require — and are often slowed down by — massive concrete foundations
Modular and prefabricated housing
where factory-built modules arrive on site and need to be placed and loaded immediately
🌿Glamping, eco-tourism and rural retreats
where minimal ground disturbance and reversibility are essential
Solar panel installations
Quick and solid foundations for solar structures in residential areas.
Pedestrian bridges and walkways
Whether in coastal areas or inland, it is a quick and simple solution for the foundations of walkways and pedestrian bridges.
Extensions and outbuildings
where access is restricted, garden surfaces must be preserved, or planning constraints limit excavation
Sloped or uneven terrain
screw depths can be varied per pile to compensate for ground level differences, eliminating the need for levelling
Low Environmental Impact
Environmentaly friendly — no harm to nature as happens when pouring concrete.
Removable & Reusable
Ground screws can be removed and reused whenever necessary — perfect for temporary structures.
High Durability
Ground Screws are made of high-quality S235 steel and hot-dip galvanized, ensuring long lifetime.

Ground Screws - HEX Base
Load Capacity
- Determined by the soil type at the site and the drilling depth.
- Before installation, the geological profile of the land must be checked – soil conditions – and the actual load capacity confirmed based on a geotechnical study or engineering-geological survey.
The following tables present the recommended load capacities for each type of ground screw type, depending on the soil consistency. The values should be used as a reference.
KGS M Series — Hexagonal Flange Head
HEX Base - 120 mm or 160 mm - with M16 or M24 central screw. Suitable for connections of wooden and steel structures. Tube diameter of 76 mm or 89 mm, wall thickness of 3.0–4.5 mm, depending on the model.
